Neolithisation Processes in Eurasia: Retrospect and Prospect

We are happy to announce that the 24th Neolithic Seminar will be held on Friday, October 26th through Saturday, October 27th  2018.


The conference aims to continue the discussion on neolithisation processes in Eurasia. Contributions are welcome on any aspect of neolithisation processes in relation to transition to farming, ‘neolithic packages’, radiocarbon dating, archaeogenetics, gene-culture coevolution, palaeodemography, niche construction, bioarchaeology, neuro-psychology and cognition, environmental studies and palaeoclimatology.


The conference is an international event, organized continuously by the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.  It remains a locus eventi that connects people and institutions globally. The Neolithic Seminar proceedings are published in the Documenta Praehistorica international journal (numbers XXI-XLIV are available at

This is the call for papers for the 24th Neolithic Seminar ‘Neolithisation Processes in Eurasia: Retrospect and Prospect’. Participation is in the form of a presentation followed by a discussion.




Participants are invited to submit an abstract of 150-200 words, including name, institution and title of the paper. The deadline for the abstracts is 30th June 2018. Please send your abstracts to
